Who we are?
The Association of Sri Lankan Graduates from Socialist Countries was established in 1966 by Sri Lankans who returned after pursuing higher studies in the former Republics of the Soviet Union, Eastern European Countries, Peoples Republic of China and Cuba.

  • To promote and foster mutual understanding, goodwill and friendship among members and to be of assistance to members.
  • To be of assistance to members in furthering thier education and widening thier fields of knowledge.
  • To sponser, encourage and support activities calculated to promote closer social, cultural and scientific contacts between Sri Lanka and socialist countries.
  • To be of assistance to Sri Lankans who are engaged in study programmes in higher educational institutions in socialist countries.
  • To liaise with academic and other socialist institutions of socialist and other countries where ever necessary.
  • To establish contacts with other professionals and other prosfessional bodies for the purpose of exchanging and sharing mutual experience and knowledge.
  • To promote national unity, peace and development in Sri Lanka.
  • To liaise with institutions/Organisations devoted to promote and maintain world peace,friendship and co-operation among all nations.
