Dear Member,

On behalf of the Association of Sri Lankan Graduates from Socialist Countries, we are pleased to invite you to take part in the 55th Anniversary Celebrations of the People’s Friendship University of Russia to be held at the Russian Cultural Center on Thursday, 26th November. A Delegation from the People’s Friendship University, comprising the Vice Rector, Prof. Martynenko Evgeny and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Abramov Aleksei will be attending the event. The programme for the event is as follows:


  • 6.30pm – Arrival of guests (Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, H.E. the Ambassador of Russia to Sri Lanka and the Director of Russian Center in Colombo)
  • 7.00pm – Photo Exhibition and documentary film on PFUR
  • 7.45pm – Welcome Speech – Mr. Hemantha Kottage, President,ASLGSC
  • 7.50pm – Special Relationship of ASLGSC with PFUR – Mr. Winston Rupasinghe
  • 8.00pm – Speech by His Excellency the Ambassador of Russia
  • 8.10pm – Address by the Vice Rector of PFUR
  • 8.20pm – Vote of Thanks
  • 8.30pm – Cocktails and Fellowship

We consider that the visit of PFU Delegation to Sri Lanka will be a great honour to our Association and to Sri Lanka where PFUR has produced a large number of outstanding professionals. We kindly request you to be seated by 6.15pm
